Singing student discovers classical
Seventeen year old singing student Ashleigh Burns from Glasgow has only ever wanted to sing pop music.
Since she started singing lessons with me at the age of nine, I have always hear a classical voice trying to break out however like most young singer they would prefer to cover songs by their favourite pop artiste.
Eventually Ashleigh gave in to my badgering her constantly about trying a classical song and decided to perform O’Mio Babino Caro and surprised herself by how good her voice was with this genre.
performing at local venues, Ashleigh decided to perform her latest song after singing a few pop songs and she was taken aback when she received a standing ovation for her classical performance. Ashleigh has now learned Nella Fantasia and is enjoying her new found genre and the positive response from audiences.
As a vocal coach I always encourage students to try different styles of music as it not only makes the singer more versatile but also opens up the possibility of finding a style which naturally suits heir voice.

“I began singing lessons with Robert Wishart just over a year ago. The transformation of my voice was incredible and within a month I was singing in public! Roberts teaching has produced a voice I never imagined I could have !” Gill Decroupe Read more testimonials
